The Society is pleased to announce publication of the latest book by Adrian Booth. This contains chapters describing eighteen industrial railway systems in and around the Yorkshire town of Penistone. The survey begins at Thurgoland Tunnel to the east of Penistone, and follows the ‘Woodhead Line’ to Woodhead Tunnel to the west, taking in industrial railways connected to, or within a couple of miles of, the line. 
The coverage includes narrow gauge railways at two small coal mines, a water works, a reservoir construction with a zig-zag, and a couple of ganister works; whilst standard gauge includes an industrial branch line with a tunnel, a wagon works, a petrol supply depot, and a steel works. Haulage systems include cable, diesel locomotives, and steam locomotives. and is the result of many years of research by the author. Originally self￾published by him, this (third) edition is about 50% larger.

It is an A4-sized softback of 148 pages, profusely illustrated (and, unlike the previous editions, many in colour), with several maps.
