IRS 2020 AGM RAILTOUR
Because of the current restrictions, the AGM as originally planned for 25th April cannot proceed this year. Instead there will be a mini-AGM on Saturday, 19th Septemer at the AFRPS depot to discuss ONLY Any Other Business items and to report the results of the postal vote / proxy form voting on the three listed items: elections to the Committee, election of Trustees and the draft Annual Report to the Charity Commission. There will also be two brake-van tours of the steelworks, one in the morning before the meeting and one in afternoon. To ensure social distancing numbers are limited so, to allow the maximum number of members to attend, you can join only one of the two tours.
British Steel require all participants to wear face masks at all times whilst on site. You will need to provide these for yourselves. No facemask : no tour. All participants will have to be temperature checked before boarding and anyone showing an elevated temperature will be refused participation. This is a non-contact procedure and will be carried out by trained AFRPS personnel.
Verandas will be allocated on boarding. THE MORNING TOUR IS FULLY BOOKED, but tickets do remain for the afternoon tour. Please say in the Comments section at Checkout if you wish to share with any other person(s) who you know will be joining that tour. There will be a maximum of 4 members per veranda, but in most cases there will be no more than three. Under social distancing rules a spouse or other resident of your household may also attend at no extra charge, but please also mention that in the comments because we need a full list of attendees in advance.
The timetable is as follows:
Departure from Frodingham Halt at 10:00, but please be there by 09:45.
Railtour 10:00 to 12:00 approx, dropping off at the AFRPS depot, where there will be tea, coffee and biscuits available. Anyone not wishing to stay for the mini-AGM may remain on the train when it leaves at 12:10 to collect the afternoon group from Frodingham Halt, but we would encourage you to stay for the meeting and return to Frodingham Halt around 14:00 with the rest of the group.
Departure from Frodingham Halt at 12h30, but please be there for 12:15.
Railtour 14:15, return to Frodingham Halt at 16:30 approx
Car Parking is available adjacent to Frodingham Halt in the signposted car park opposite Frodingham House.
f you have ordered books to be collected during the visit, this will be done in the car park. There will not be a separate Sales Stand due to the logistics of getting books to the AFRPS depot, although there may be a small number of books available for sale.
Toilets will only be available at the AFRPS depot, where a brief stop will be made, if necessary, at the start of the morning rail tour and the end of the afternoon railtour.
Refreshments are available courtesy of the AFRPS and are included in the £15 fee. By all means bring a packed lunch if you require something more substantial - but no alcohol - this is a working steelworks!
The morning tour is fully booked so this ticket is for the afternoon tour. Please ensure that you are at Frodingham Halt in good time for the start of your tour. Because of the tight schedule we cannot wait for latecomers.
Sorry if the conditions seem irksome but as everybody is probably aware by know, these are normal for all public events held in the current situation.
